The G3 paste is circa £20 for 3kg. 3M Fast-Cut is £26 for 1 litre (enough for 40ft boat). Does anyone have any idea which is better on performance and value? Thanks.

We use G6 on our own boat (polyurethane top coat paint) on the recommendation of the yard that built it. They use G3 on gelcoat. Don't know of any problems so seems on the prices you state that Farecla is the best value.
The same yard recommended using the 3M wipe on water soluble gloss (forgotten its name) after cutting but we never bother as about two hours with the boat back in the water the effect is lost from the drying salt (and it is expensive!).

I've used Farecla G3 on gelcoat and can thoroughly recommend it.

Yes I have also used G3 with good results. I think Farecla do products specifically aimed at the boating market under the "Boat Pride" brand name.
