Fantastic weekend!

Great weekend out doing the powerboat level 2 with Mendez marine, big thanks to Mike for making it such an enjoyable course. Weather was spot on, got slightly fried by sun on the Saturday then took the offer of sun cream on Sunday :)

Man overboard was good fun, parking was good fun, the whole course was good fun.

Might charter a rib to scratch the itch of getting out on the water again, as boat won't hit the water until end of June.

Glad you had a good trip out Lisa, no boating for us this weekend although we were over in Jersey visiting friends and attended the boat show as well as drinks in the evening onboard the HMS Severn, really great family friendly boat show and was told that Sunseeker had made a substantial sale whilst there. No Princess but Fairline were on there but for me the boat of the show was the Windy Camira 39, pure class.

Moved from Shamrock on Sunday round to Hamble Point.

Pootled up river today in the tender with wife and dogs and had lunch at the Jolly Sailor.

Great day now relaxing with a cold one listening to the birds and enjoying the last of the weekend.

Back home tomorrow but back on Friday

Hmm ...

Lovely weekend - Friday afternoon trip to the slipway and haul out for a Wipe & a Swipe, oh yes check out the stiff port shaft - then three hours in the back recesses of the engine bay.

Saturday - lovely day this time in addition to another 5 hours in and out of the engine bay about 2 under the boat and at least 1 inside the drawer case in the aft cabin.

Sunday - absolutely cracking day - this time only 4 hours in the engine bay - Yippee the shaft coupling detached - then 3 hours split between the aft cabin drawers and sat under the boat pulling the shaft. Still I have found out the after cutlass was compeltely knackered, and from today's checks the forwward not too far behind it.

Today - got the completely failed aft cutlass out in about 15 minutes. Something clearly is wrong, but oh don't worry the forward cutlass will take a further 4 hours to remove, with at least 2 of these spent back inside those damn drawers again.

This afternoon a drive with SWMBO & Co to the Pub with No Name near Petersfield, sufficiently far from the sea I thought to forget I have a blooming boat.

Now just hope Anthony Foulkes has got the message not to splash me tomorrow on account of the large hole where the port shaft is meant to be.

Antifouling & polishing - nope not a bit of it !

Gary I'll do you a swap for your plumbing !

Way too much fun for one long weekend, you know how to live.... :)

Its beautiful here bthis morning, I'm sat on the back of Spotty at East Cowes Marina, river is very quiet, I guess a few late nights were had.
Also visiting are Pinnacle and Colhel, nether seem very knowledgeable on Lowrance networks and why mine cant find the rate compass or perhaps they didn't want to be roped in..

We were berthed Saturday midday until 1pm today not 10 yards from you on H4. Thought you were not around.. all seemed quiet on Spotty 5, though we were out and about a lot... I'm no good at Lowrance network either.

Sorry to have have missed you Adrian, I not sure how we managed it ! We arrived on the rib about 2.30, rafted up next to Tim Griffins training rib, spent the whole afternoon taking the plotter apart. Put it back together again this morning, must have walked pass you a loads of times, went for a breakfast, back about 1pm, Colhel came around on his bike then HenryF rocked up. Both shared the benefit of their very limited knowledge (at least Colin said he knew nothing) but between us we got a solution.

D'oh... saw your RIB, and it must've therefore been you on it when we passed as the engine was running at one point when we passed. You were facing away from the pontoon, well that's my excuse!! Ho hum, will know for next time!
