11 a.m. off we pootled, destination Berthon Lymington. Beautiful sunshine if a tad chilly. No mayhem heading down the Hamble (Mr Winter...you must've been very disappointed ;) ).
Normally 'Lisilou' gets on the plane very easily as long as you don't dally about and give her a bit of 'Boff' on the throttles but this time she struggled to get over that bow wave leaving me on tiptoes to see where I was going. Strange I thought coz she was lifted, scrubbed and anti-fouled in Jan/Feb so her bum should've been fairly clean. Anyway...gave her a bit more oomph and down she came but still felt laboured at 23 knts. Ok, tide was against us but still didn't feel quite right to me. Thought maybe it was me just being too tentative but hey...it was no biggy and the sun was shining so I was a relatively happy bunny.

Arrived at Berthons around 12.15 ish to kick off the flip flops and chill with a few drinks with some friends. Very nice it was too. Bloody cold tho! Didn't stop shivering all day and evening tbh. Brrrrr.
Never been to Berthons before and I've gotta say, it's a great little place although....please, please, please... put some letters on your pontoon piles so I can see which one I'm headed for :). Really friendly, helpful staff, lovely facilities and a shorter stroll than YH into Lymington for the obligatory nose about and evening meal/booze up. A great alternative to YH for a stopover or longer if you can spare the time.

Popped into Lymington in the evening to see if we could get a table for 6 people and ended up having a really nice Thai meal in the Fusion Inn. Bit of a trek and the most unlikely of places for a Thai restaurant as it's just a good ole English pub really so we weren't expecting any great things from the cuisine but I have to say...the food was great! It was also empty and I can't for the life of me understand why but all the better for us, as everywhere else was booked out. Anyway, thoroughly recommend the food there.
From there, we popped into a very lively pub (can't remember the name) with live music. The place was heaving with what had to be the strangest collection of people I've ever seen in my life but the music was great which helped take your mind off 'The Munsters' and their extended family!
Great evening was had and so we headed back to the boats for a final nightcap then bedbyes.

Left Berthon at 12.30 today and headed over to Alum Bay as the weather was much better than first forecast and significantly warmer than yesterday. Arrived to a virtually empty bay, dropped anchor and just sat and soaked up the sun for a couple of hours before heading back to Swanwick.

Now the trip back was much better as regards 'Lisilou's' performance. 'Boffed' her onto the plane no problem and she purred back all the way at a very comfy 25 knts.
Not too busy out there at all. Many more sails than mobos it seemed and they looked to be having a whale of a time as were we.
Got back to the home berth around 4p.m. which left plenty of sun time still to have a few bevvies with the neighbours and take Bob for a run. That 2 stroke is awesome!!!
The best bit??...we can do it all again tomorrow!! Yaaaay :D.
How bout you?

:)
P.S. I do have video and if I ever get around to editing it...I'll post it.
P.P.S I must also mention that we had some random guy playing in our wake at VERY close quarters in an amazing rib! That thing went like stink and cut thru our wake like it wasn't there! Thanks Roy...that was good fun to watch. Shame I had the camera in the wrong mode tho!!! grrr

We were headed back from Poole to Lymington today, via Christchurch and then took the needles channel in to the Solent. Spotted a 35 anchored in Alum bay as we cruised passed, guess it was you guys :)

Definitely would've been us U4.

Gary...it was a proper nice weekend :p ;)

Steve...don't be glum...I'll send you some pics :D

Launched yesterday morning after a week out for damage repair.
Birthday party at the folly last night. Boat full and I mean full of 18 year old girls.
Dropped them off at lunchtime today than back to the folly again with some older friends for dinner tonight.
Just tied up 10 mins ago. Barbie on the hook somewhere likely tomorrow.
A nice, but exhausting, weekend :)

Mark...that sounds great although an 18th birthday bash sounds messy!!! Gonna be quite pleasant tomorrow too by the looks. Enjoy.

Sounds like a proper weekend Lisi! :)

We arrived at the boat on wednesday evening. On Thursday I changed the oil and the remaining filters and did a quick test run to see everything still worked. Friday was spent just chillin' (experimenting with pun again, it was blowing from the north and snowing at times...).

On Saturday morning we started our slow journey towards the sea and drove the boat 40 miles from Savonlinna to Puumala where we left her for now. Boat worked like charm, mostly drove at 25 knots @ 2100 rpm.

Apart for the chilly weather, we had a great extended weekend. I hope to get my camera back soon so will start spamming you all with pics again :).

Sounds like you all had a fab weekend, with more to come.
I cant believe i have not even been out in mine since before christmas.... Every time ive been in Jersey weather has been attrocious....

Its beautiful here bthis morning, I'm sat on the back of Spotty at East Cowes Marina, river is very quiet, I guess a few late nights were had.
Also visiting are Pinnacle and Colhel, nether seem very knowledgeable on Lowrance networks and why mine cant find the rate compass or perhaps they didn't want to be roped in..

Great day at the Horning Boatshow in Saturday....saw lots of people we know so lots of chatting and met Claire and Neale who had their Motorboat Owner magazine stand there.

Complete contrast yesterday, which was spent in the engine bay changing the oil and filters, topping up batteries and fixing the water pump. Knackered at the end but very satisfying.

Lovely sunny morning today and started well with bacon and egg sarnies for breakfast. Couple of jobs followed by a leisurely poodle upriver methinks :)

We had a great weekend on our boat too! Moved round from Chichester marina to our new home in a Gosport and then across to Portsmouth on the ferry for a lovely Italian. Then yesterday we popped over to Osborne bay where I followed swmbo swimming in the kayak. I think people though she was a bit mad but she is in training for a triathlon. Then a surprisingly bumpy trio back to Gosport. So much better than the pain of Chichester harbour and then the lock:). Think we will use the boat much more now.

Great to see so many having fun this weekend, mine to the contrary has been pretty ****, literally. After a few days of poorliness, I find myself cleaning this thing, it even crossed my mind whether it was worth getting the rotary polisher and 3M compound out.

I've clearly lost the plot and am in desperate need of some boaty time.

Have fun those of you 'out there' hoping for a better time of it next weekend

We may pop in for a coffee on the way past.

How are the new protein shakes going? I know you wanted to just tweak your deltoids a bit to compete with the Russians. You definitely ran them into the ground at the last competition with those Abs - the photo set in Flex was incredible :)

Take it easy, even champions need the odd day off.

Forecast isn't looking good for next weekend Gary. You may have to clean the loo again! ;)
