[h=1]Felixstowe: Surfer, 38, rescued from sea by coastguard[/h]Matt HunterFriday, December 27, 2013

A man has been rescued after he was seen in difficulties while surfing this afternoon.

Felixstowe Coastguard and the Harwich Onshore Lifeboat were tasked to the entrance to the River Deben at 1.05pm.
A member of the public had reported seeing a man in difficulties while surfing.
A spokesman for Thames Coastguard said the lifeboat found the 38-year-old man who was “exhausted”.
He said he had been lucky as the surfer’s sail and mast had broken off because of the stormy conditions.
He was taken to shore at Felixstowe Ferry where he was met by the coastguard team.

and it is indeed the Lowestoft lifeboat as suggested earlier

surely the EADT can manage a teeny bit of accuracy, or failing that at least a bit of variety!

Think it's a case of copyright where, if they own the rights to a photo they can use it as often as they like, if not they have to pay for each use of it. If Roger sends his photo to them and gives them the rights, they'll have a correct picture to work with. Not a lot anyone can do about accurate journalism, don't think there is such a thing

AFAIK there is no such animal as "The Harwich Onshore Lifeboat"

There is an Inshore Lifeboat RIB type, and the Albert Brown which is a Severn Class "Offshore Lifeboat"

Come to think about it an "Onshore Lifeboat" would need to be some sort of 4WD vehicle. :confused:
