Jist got a fairline Targa 47, crossed over from France to malta everything seemed fine. Sea a bit choppy on the way here. Ever since we have arrived, there is a foul smell in the kitchen saloon area. Can't get rid of it, it feels like the bathroom is in the kitchen!!!! Any help please?

I agree check bilges for sewage.

Last year I went back to the boat. There was a general smell of sewage , I got on the boat a strong smell, I had this 20 years ago so checked batteries, a very strong smell batteries very hot , 85 deg C on a laser thermometer. Shut off shore power batteries fluxed. So new domestic batteries.

This had been caused by leaving fridge on when unattended and several cases of shore power failure so completely flat domestics Which fluxes them. They were about 5 years old.

If it is batteries get an engineer to check alternators for over charging and shore power for over charging.

Under the large storage hatch in the saloon/kitchen floor, you have an area where the showers drain into. It is under the removable fibreglass box. I would check in there first for the source of the smell.
