Re: frank verril

Scourge of bad brokers, he gave a detailed report for us and must have seen a lot. Number's in the magazines, haven't got it on me. If you can, attend the survey with him. Ask the salesman to sod off a bit, until the seatrial (which he will have to attend).

I did have a targa, but not the 30-33. The ones I saw had the sidewaysy forward cabing, seems better than any v-berth arrangement of later 34s. Well-liked boats, I think. the owner should be able to walk you through the painstaking maintenence or show a load of bills.

I had one for 3 years. Excellent sea boat, good hull doesn't slam. Main issue is apparantly water leaks into the cabin and saloon usually caused by poor sealing of Nav lights. Some minor stress cracks around the saloon to cockpit door are usual. No unusual problems with the engines, most were fitted with 41's or the V8 petrols, later ones had the KAD 42's.

IMHO a boat that you will be very happy with.

Re: wet carpets

yes. some (mebbe not all) leaks can be found by dampness on carpets, dampness in bottoms of cupboards, damp carpets in bottoms of cupboards and so on. You sometimes have to pull out loads of stuff to find all this.
