According to an announcement as above from IBI magazine Fairline have a new significant shareholder (75%+) Arrowbolt Propulsion Systems Ltd.
Apparently Arrowbolt Propulsion Systems Ltd is mainly owned by the same person who bought 75% + of Fletcher Boats Ltd last year.

Hang on, isn't this the company that somewhat bizarrely seemed to own Fairline for five minutes a couple of years ago? And was apparently going to turn Fletcher into a successful boutique brand?

Website says they develop electric propulsion systems for pleasure boats. Also says they're part of the Fletcher Marine Group.

I would just like to add that before, and then particularly since brexit, UK manufacture of boats has been in terminal decline. Possibly, with the exception of some niche areas.
Just listing the manufacturers who have gone bust since the70s and it is a long, long, sad list. Fletcher, shakespeare, ring, picton, sealine, phantom, mg, sadler, westerly, snapdragon, moody, southerly etc etc etc.

Yet, sitting in our house in france, reading voile magazine's article on the top100 boat manufacturers it seems there is a big contrast. To me it seems that sailing, boating and boat manufacturing in the uk is up sh1t creek. On the continent it is still going great guns.

Yes, it's the same family (Wessex Fletcher/Arrowbolt). Not good.
I thought so. It all seemed VERY rum last time, didn't they sell it on again within weeks?

Interesting that they are using the name Wessex, given that Wessex Marine in Poole (no relation I'm sure) is a very well established and extremely reputable business.

Don’t listen to Stokesea he’s a serial name changer and thinks others behave the same!
That explains a lot. I noticed a certain other 'forum character' had gone a bit quiet!

Anyway, back to Fairline, could you tell us more please Pete? You're clearly concerned about this situation?
