I am thinking about buying a Fairline Sprint.

There are quite a few on the market around 15 -16k, so what should I actually try and pay for one, 12 -13k ?

Also these are big boats to trail. Does anyone really trail them, so is a trailer actually worth anything ?

Well - there are a few people on here with Sprints but I tow a Fairline Holiday which is bigger with no problems. You must have a 4x4 and a proper one at that i.e. Land Cruiser, Disco, Shogun, - not one of these baby ones used for shopping trips.

I've had my Sprint for 4 years now. Just put a diesel in. The Sprint came with the two main petrol engine versions - V6 206 and V8 211. Both on Volvo 290 drives. You should try and get the 211 version. I have all the info so PM me if you want to chat more.Prices are subject to many factors. Trailabilitity? Yes but as said eralier you must have the right car.

I love my Sprint even more now I've re engined. Great hull, and a lot f cabin space for its size.

these are all about condition - they are a solid build but can vary a lot in condition.
big boats (21 is a joke!) that get well equipped with extras over the years and many are re-engined.

Have you looked at the Fairline 21 Weekend? same hull, different superstructure. They are older but also cheaper. I bought mine and re-engined to diesel for not a lot more than a top notch Sprint.

I prefer the look of the Sprints, but have been more than impressed by mine.

Re: Bit heavy for sane people[laugh]

My old regal was 23 ft long and with 2 x mercruisers (full-o-corrosion unreliable petrol rubbish) it was heavy. To heavy to tow every weekend etc.
However the trailer does mean you can take it home over winter and do stuff to keep it going in reasonal comfort near your kitchen door etc.
