Fairey Huntsman vs Redjet.

wot eva spottyboy!!:o

i have passed the red jet at close to 60 kts!! :encouragement:

fact remains that 35+ Kts from Playtime is awesome!! just too classy for a chav like me!

Brilliant, lovely boat seen doing what it does go best............... Go FAST!

DKII can't help herself if we are heading to/from Cowes and the RedJet is passing i am sure she pushes her own throttles forward to get there first!

I was about to build a pair of Cummins 6bt's with help from Latestarter when I got offered a zero hours pair of 1996 Perkins Sabre M265Ti which put out 240hp.

480hp in a 3.75 ton boat....

They will wind up to 285hp, but that requires some gearbox work, 1.375" shaft upgrade and new props, it'll have to wait, my wife wants heating!

That power to weight ratio helps explain some of the performance. Impressive!

Cheers Paul

Playtime was built light to go racing in Cowes-Torquay and others, not wearing her '333' numbers this year as I thought a buyer might not want them and removal means a repaint. She has a thinner deck with no teak, no samson post, no water tank, no heating, no drawers and lockers up front, a couple of hundred kgs lighter than a H28 would usually be.

I'm sure the Redjets could open up and hit 40 knots, I think Redjet 3 can do 44, but I'm with them...

Ha. Sounds like my old rally car, stripped of all the non essentials :encouragement:

Great video showing a well sorted hull. I love the exhausts too.

Thanks for posting ;)

The boat has no trim tabs?

Would they not be useful, or are they just not done on a boat of that vintage/style?
