Facebook Page

I also think there is a lot of crossover. Some topics will be common to all locations - my ice maker has stopped working, anyone know what the problem might be?

Other times people in one location might want to see what's going on in another, possibly they are dreaming about locating there, I know JFM covets my posts from Gosport as an example.

Things like video footage seems to transcend location either because of the story telling or technical aspects - how else would we know how to crash a quadcopter?

Even meetings, if you know there is a gathering and happen to be in the area.

If it gets to the point where there are hundreds of posts a day then maybe it's time to have a re-think until then I would suggest keeping it as one group.

NW Mob

We have a similar facebook group which is mainly made up of YBW forum members who found the forum too difficult to upload trip reports and pictures.
We tend to organise weekend meets, barbeques and the odd bit of boating in company within the Facebook Group now.

Our group members are not restricted to mobos, ribs, saily boats. We welcome anybody who wants to share a common interest in boating and our cruising area.

The only condition is we get to check their FUNBOX first.....

It has probably made the YBW Mobo section seem much saner and quieter as some/most of the usual YBW NW Mob suspects are more active on FB now!

Forums will always have their place a great way to ask questions and get some great advice from those with more experience, each is different in a way as if you want to ask about Henry's Ice machine if you ask that question on face book within 5 days it will be miles down the list and hard to find, where as on here its easy, but if you ask someone is cowes busy? you wont get a reply for a while, or like someone did today and put a picture of them on the Hamble, we all saw the picture and commented as you can do so on your phone. It also opens up a new world for pictures as its so easy, and if you have an item to sell stick it on there as well.

Well the facebook page is very active its good to see the pictures as they go up as people are on the water, if you are not in the group you cant see whats been posted so it is private and only group members can see whats posted and any crap is removed straight away.

come and join us

https://www.facebook.com/groups/1702868906596967/ just put that link in your browser and if you are logged on it will open the group - just click join and you will be approved as long as you have a boat picture in your pictures.
