I’ve been using Fabsil Universal and sometimes Fabsil Gold on my stack pack and sprayhood but noticed that I am getting lots of marks on the deck which look to be from the waterproofed covers run off. Other than being unsightly, they are surprisingly difficult to remove and only seem to come off with acetone. Anyone else have this issue? Any other waterproofing products people would recommend? Or what else to try to clean the decks, it’s quite a large area to clean hence not wanting to use tons of acetone!

I take my 'canvases' off when using fabsil and hang up elsewhere, normally in my garage. Never thought about doing it is situ.

I believe that fabsil is the best product and it seems to keep my covers in good condition, though stitching can be a problem.

Like you I’ve done it off the boat, but also in situ. Have even done it in the autumn then put them back on the boat in the spring (when they must have been properly dry!) and still get this residue washing off. Maybe I’ll give Fabsil a call as it does seem to be the go to product for this kind of thing. I wonder if re proofing every year is part of the problem - maybe some of the new application isn’t taken into the fabric properly even though it looks like it’s soaked in

I've never noticed a problem with staining after putting the cover back on and I reproof mine each 'winter'. I do scrub them to remove muck using a tiny bit of washing liquid in the water and then rinse well, allow to dry and then fabsil.
