Fécamp PAF

We’ve been pottering down the N France coast having stamped in at Calais 9 days ago. Arrived at Fécamp yesterday, found a berth on the visitors pontoon (C - no response on Ch 9 for the marina) and went to the office. Very helpful lady asked us if we needed “Formalities” - what, you can stamp in and out here? Yup, with a day or so’s notice the PAF will come from La Havre and stamp you in or out. We asked if they could come the next day (today) and the answer was yes - they turned up, were friendly, and stamped out passports so we can leave at 6am tomorrow for Eastbourne. We were expecting to have to continue to Le Havre to get that done so a bit of a bonus as we are heading back to the East Coast and some days of NEs forecast.

Thank you for sharing info on Fecamp as I was asking on another thread as to little stamp process there and it seemed no entry/exit stamps to be had so it a bit limbo like not being like st Cast etc with online system. I guess they just need stamping machines in each marina office to scan passports but doubt this will happen anytime soon. I do wonder how all thes places will cope once visa are rolled out.

… slipped our lines at 06:15 this morning, arrived Eastbourne 16:45. Called the National Yachtline to report our arrival, recorded message saying that if you’ve done your sPCR process online then there is nothing else to do. Not sure why the confirmation email you get after the submission says you must phone when you arrive.

Probably to allow for the possibility that they will inspect boats & crews on occasion. They may do a quota proportion or random selection, or when anything looks questionable or they have intelligence something may be amiss.

And/or, so they can record you as actually arriving post-email on their database.
