I'm doing a bit of research into the Shrimper on behalf of my uncle, who is keen to buy one.
I've only sailed one briefly, several years ago. I remember it being great fun, ambling round the normally inaccessible bits of the Fal with the plate up. However I've not sailed one since, so any info on the following would be appreciated -
1. Inboard or outboard best?
2. How do they behave in a bit of a blow and a chop?
3. Resale value/ build construction / general standing up to wear and tear.
I'm based in Noss Mayo (Devon) and my uncle is around Fowey. Does anyone know if it's possible to charter such a beast in this area at all, or anywhere for that matter. I think to try before you buy is all important for a boat. Or would anybody be willing to take us sailing for copious amounts of alcohol / hard cash / pasties or any other informal deal? Or purely out of the kindness of their hearts of course...
Any help much appreciated, as always
