Excited and happy ( but a little bit scared)

I would be interested to learn where you got the impression that she was a DIY build in case i have been misinformed.

From the history of the Royal Northumberland Yacht Club, which includes the information "Other one-off building projects were successfully concluded and several members fitted out hulls, notably Derek Parker’s single-handed effort on the Moody 44, Border Collie."

Wow. This is really interesting. This is the name of the original owner on the paperwork.
The hull was built at Halmatic according to the builders plate. Built by an amateur ( with some serious skills)
The surveyor wrote in his report she was built in a manner commensurate with the moodys yard at that time. He also said that she was 'almost overbuilt' with the strength of her hull.
i apologise if my tone was defensive in my last reply to you and i bow to your greater knowledge.
Thanks for the info

Quite right! That is often the case when the inquirer is genuine, posts valid questions until he is convinced by the answers AND comes back with information regarding the final result.

Well done, Malabarista! :)

Why thank you very much. We are starting on the toenails now having drawn blood on all fingers. Deadline is 17 o'clock today. It's sign or walk time!
It's getting tense here folks.
We have everything lined up our end and ready to go…I will keep y'all informed

Please do! Get the camera crew down, this is better than any reality TV there is on offer!

Best of luck whatever way it goes

Well…what is a deadline anyway?
It's only an arbitrary line in the sand…let's draw a new one…no news.
I'm off…

A crazy day of ups and downs but we have just bought a large hole in the water into which, in order to keep up with tradition, we have immediately started pouring money. Border Collie will become ours officially tomorrow morning when we sign documents and transfer beer tokens. However we have received a final email staing that the ( quite hardcore) negotiations are over and the vendors accept our final offer.
Anyone planning on business dealings with my wife should be warned. She's a tough cookie. I guess South Africans learn this stuff in school. I was ready to fold about 11 o'clock but she kept right on going until late today.
I'm too exhausted to celebrate yet. Maybe tomorrow
Thanks for all your help guys i will post the photos tomorrow.

Congratulations from another Seth Efricen, as the good folk on here like call us. As for not celebrating, poor show and very un-Seth Efricen, bru.

Ag, shame!

D'is goed om te hoor. Sy is 'n slim meisie, jou vrou.

Gaan geklap more aand, babbelas op Vridag oggend....

Alles van die beste, kerels!

Hadn't anticipated a post full of abuse from a bloody Saffa ?
No idea what it means but my BIL will translate shortly.
Thanks ( i think)

VERY low key one beer and a glass of wine for SAWMBO ( good name for a boat there).
We have 2x skippers organised to move BC tomorrow and LOTS to organise before then. We have a redundant skipper as one of them is mental and may be (accidentally) lost overboard if he is caught in the galley. He has a penchant for what he calls 'headcheese'. It stinks!
We are also busy running 5 design/build projects around the country so hangovers midweek get expensive. So -SPELLING- Gaan kak in die mealies -SPELLING ?
