excess battery voltage

I suggest you load it up at a few amps and repeat the test??

Try a headlight bulb, for example.

went to test brand new (six months unused)spare battery which is not connected to anything volt meter says 18VOLTS! tried other volt meter same reading any ideas somebody?

derrrrr twas the internal batteries in the testers thanx all
