firstly wiring; what connectons for ignition, i have white (mag) blue (mag) and purple (tach)

white and purple give an output from the HT but it seems small (?)

all others work fine but i wanted to make sure. so if you know, or know someone who might.

also i need some service parts, impeller, and engine mounts.

thanks then, steve.

Try a google search for mastertech in the US.

I used to have an aged Evinrude 135 1975 ( as used in the Bond film "Live and let die") and found that the voltage from the mag charge coils are routed to the ignition switch. Make sure that the switch does not have any dirt and moisture as it causes a resistance to ground and affects starting. I washed the crud out by flushing with half a can of WD40.

Be carefull when cranking as these charge coils provide around 600V to the CD ingnition modules, I found this out by getting a belt off the back of the switch.

Have fun, remember, AN OUT BOARD IS FOR LIFE NOT JUST THE SUMMER

V8's rule!

<font color=blue>Dunno if it will help but I believe Evinrude and Johnsons of that era are totally interchangeable in parts etc.

yep, that's how this one appears to be wired. thought it was a bit odd, but there again, saves the coils from discharging to earth to stop the engine.

them poor little volt thingy's are gonna have to run up a long length of wire!

yep, cheers B, i was aware. all the bits appear to be there, just not been fun for years. it is the wiring of the ignition i was a bit concerned about. i wanted to keep the engine turning over, using a deep cycle battery.. but i don't want it to start up... least not yet!

cheers for that, steve.
