Anyone know where I can get a user and service manual for a 1989 Evinrude 140hp 2 stroke?

I found a few places asking for $30 but wondered if there are any free downloads anywhere.

Very unlikely to find a free download

OMC sold the rights to all the manuals upto 2010 to Ken Cook Co, aka Outboard books.com, from where owners manuals and workshop manuals can be bought

https://www.outboardbooks.com/index.cfm?event=item.search

However this Seloc Manual covers your model http://boatinfo.no/lib/evinrude/manuals/1973-1991johnsonevinrude.html#/0

but it covers so many models that it is a pretty poor substitute for a model specific OEM manual.

Parts lists and diagrams can be found at http://epc.brp.com/Index.aspx?lang=E&s1=c892cf1c-ee08-4f03-9bbe-e212df2e62ea

For online help and advice you wont beat theses two forums ( but if you use either quote the model number!) These sites I believe also sell the OEM manuals online

Ah ok! Shame. $97 for a workshop manual seems a bit steep!

I found the parts diagrams, which is helpful.

www.marineengine.com lists the service manual at $45
