In Feb bought a Nordkapp 500 with a Evinrude E-Tec 90 as the power unit.

First couple of uses this year and all has been fine but going out a couple weeks ago and a problem with the auto trim.

At first I thought it was the relay so ordered a new and swapped it out last week but issue remains the same.

Basically I can trim down but not trim up. Also the trim motor runs all the time as soon as the electric master switch is turn on. Not good!

I can get the motor up by unplugging the relay and have made up two short wires so can reverse the polarity in the switch, as soon as have the motor where I want it remove the wires and leave the relay unplugged.

It works but it is not very elegant and obviously altering the trim on the go is not easy.

My thoughts are now it is either a short in one of the trim switches, either on the side of the engine or side of the throttle, or a short possibly in the trim motor???

Anyone had a similar problem?
