Returned the boat to Sonning after winter work done at Broom. Superb service and delighted with the results. Worth every penny.
Left Brundall the Sunday before Easter and had the most fantastic run round the Suffolk/ Essex coast.
Brundall to Lowestoft.
Lowestoft to Woodbridge.
Woodbridge to Burnham on Crouch.
Burnham to Hampton Court and on up the non-tidal river.
Weather you just dream of.
Biggest problem? Strong possibility of running out of sun cream!!
Scarriest bit? Going through Windsor on a hot Bank Holiday weekend. My God. Boats to the left of us, boats to the right of us, most barely under control day hire boats. The moorings were totally full with quite a bit of rafting. Not my cup of tea at all. We hurried on, if 4.5 knots can ever be described as "hurrying".
Continue to be surprised by the standard of boat handling. Some of the looks of panic on the skippers' faces. I can understand why so few ever leave the marina. Very sad.
