EVC. warning lights

We have d12,s and the evc warning light display has the orange warning triangle lit I have looked in the manual and can’t determine the what is causing this. Is there a way of finding what would cause this to light without having it plugged into the Volvo tool ?

What codes do you get when you use the diagnostic button on the evc panel?

This is what I couldn’t find in the manual I guessed there would have been a way to manually decifer the code but I wasn’t sure how ? So you can use the buttons on the control panel ? Cheers

Yep although the exact procedure will vary depending on what exact flavour of EVC you've got. It's also in the VP operators guide for the engine.

Looks like EVC A or B. I think you need to press and hold the D (for diagnostic...) button and then you'll get a series of flashes that tell you the code - but google is your friend for exact instructions.

Ok cheers this was replaced when we bought the boat and we have been plagued with warning light problems also I have never been able to get the instrument lights to work which I believe is the bottom left button on the panel

Yep, touch it repeatedly to change the brightness.

This morning took the boat out have orange flashing triangle and when I hold down the d button and release I get 1 long flash followed by 6 short then 8 short Dies this sound like a code because I can’t find anything on google any help gratefully received. Cheers

I looked in the manual and couldn't find them. It appears that most (all?) D12's have a display that gives the codes. Perhaps there's another manual?

It depends on the generation of evc

I have evc a and I get no codes just a flashing light.

The warning triangle I have had in the past and it is a more general error. Google is your friend

The triangle seems related to loose wires and so on as opposed to a specific error. Mine has now gone away. I have had the whole upper helm in bits so maybe this is why
