Does anyone know the deal with them now? Last thing I heard they went bust, but their website is up and running. The owners website still says they're insolvent.

Regards,

Mike

Last I heard (indirectly frm the OA here) was a move to manufacture in India was being considered. I guess the new owners are waiting until an upturn in the market arrives.

Kind of neutral news really. If you look under the contact page on the etap website and then at the bottom look at the pull down options for news on models you can see they're planning a rebrand on the whole range, beyond that it's all quiet. I've had a couple of Etaps and so they send emails from time to time... the last one a few weeks ago was an offer to supply sails for any Etap model ever produced... I needed to lie down in a dark room when I looked at the prices:eek: So there appears to be some activity, but no firm news on the supply of new boats.

I agree, Galadriel. I've stories of Etaps going to be built in Poland, under the same name, but not them being built in India.

Dehler bought Etap. Then Dehler went bust. Hanse has bought the remains but Etap went elsewhere.
This from the owners' association dated May 09:
"As we are sure you are by now aware, Etap Yachting BV was placed into administration earlier this year shortly after the demise of Dehler Yachting, their parent company.
The manufacturing rights, name and all available stock have since been purchased by MIC , another Belgium company who are planning to recommence manufacture of the full range of Etap Yachts and Motor boat in Poland in June this year. Companies who were previously Etap dealers have since held meetings in Belgium with MIC and their intention is to appoint UK dealers in the near future. An immediate improvement in the availability of spare parts, particularly for older boats, has been reported by Woodrolfe Boat Sales."
