Just returned from 10 days - R Deben (Tidemill Yacht Harbour), Burnham and St Kat's.

Can't remember the last time we had so much sunshine and totally calm seas.
Woodbridge is a super little market town to wander around. The scenery on the trip up and down the R Deben was beautiful. Another time I might take more time there and visit some of the tranquil river anchorages.
Certainly a far cry from the last 4 years in the Solent.

Think I passed "Tahoe" outside Romney Lock on the way down, around 7 June. Thought the name looked familiar but couldn't see the burgee. Definitely should be bigger.

We were guests of TMYC at Hampton Court for a few days before our departure seaward. Very hospitable and generous crowd. Great variety of eating places over Hampton Court bridge in E Molesey. Recommend Louis' (Greek restaurant), great fun and v good food.

Why can't all trips be that good.

We were on our way up to Windsor on 7th June and would have been at Romney around 3pm. Burgee was flying on pulpitstaff ....how big do we want 'em Mike....say 1metre in the hoist/forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

Can you give us an idea of your passage route and sector times?

I'm sure the good people of Woodbridge, will be delighted to learn that both they, their town and the River Deben have now been hacked out of Suffolk, and dumped in Essex................................../forums/images/icons/laugh.gif
Your right BTW very pretty trip up the River.

A little literary licence.
Most of our journey at sea was in Essex.

No insult meant to either Essex or Suffolk.

Make it about 10 metres and we could use it as a winter cover.

Left Hampton Court Thursday (mid day) for Chatham Marina. About 50 miles and 5 hours.
Chatham to Woodbridge 50 miles and about 4 hours.
Woodbridge to Burnham 40 miles (?) 3.5 hours.
Burnham to St Kat's 40 miles 3 hours
Then back to Reading.

We were in company of friends in a Birchwood 33 so cruising around 14 kts.

Biggest problem was sunburn !
