I notice that the Essex Police launch in Burnham Yacht Harbour is now flying a Dutch ensign.
Does that mean it is now sold out of service?

AIS is showing a Dutch boat called Kuifeend where Alert IV is berthed, so it seems she has been sold.
I don't recall any mention of this, perhaps I missed it.
Kuifeend = tufted duck, not a name to strike fear in miscreants.

I read somewhere that back in the 19th century (and before?) Royal Navy ships were often called things like HMS Pansy and HMS Dainty, but still managed to project fear across much of the globe.

Could perhaps be a sign of insecurity needing to give them all rufty-tufty names?

I had heard that she was going and something new is coming later in the year. Not seen her in a few years but last time I was onboard it she was certainly looking tired and in need of a major renovation.
