Hi All

A bit of a strange one, the D2 heater has been working fine but now we only get the red light on the controller but nothing at the main unit. Checked the fuse and a 15 amp fuse had blown, replaced with a 20 amp and within 30 seconds it had blown but the controller had not been switched on, any ideas ? Looks like a dead short but not sure where to start looking.

Cheers

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but we had the same problem and it ended up being the electronic control module. It is easy to replace yourself but not cheap I'm affraid. We searched the inernet and found a place in Manchester that was the cheapest for spares. Can't remember the name of them though.

Before going to all the trouble of replacing the controller - disconnect the glow plug and try again - I had a similar problem and it was the glowplug shorting out causing the heavy current drain - replaced the glow plug and problem solved - much cheaper than a replacement controller

A bit of update, mamaged to get down to the boat today. Replaced the fuse and it didn't blow but also had nothing from the unit. Will have a look at the site above (forgot to print it off today before going down) and see what is suggested, still hoping its not the ICU. WIll also remember to pack the multimeter next time !

Cheers
