DId not need the penetrating oil as the flange had come loose whilst away fron the boat. The one mount I took off was totally destroyed, no wonder the bolt snapped. Managed to re tap m8 holes which is good for the new mount.1000012111.jpg

Aero Rig.jpg
Is that an Iroquois with an aero-rig in the middle pic? Looks intriguing. In a tech-ahead-of-its-time, Citroen DS, kind of a way.

There is a 30 foot Daz Cat at Hayling island with the same rig.

Many years ago at SIBS I got a test sail on a Hirondelle with the aero rig. Tacking so easy and smooth assuming you wanted the same tack angle.

It just keeps getting worse. I have to speay wd40 inside to make it work. I think there is no oil.leak, just a build up of wd40 inside the bendix.
Standard WD40 isn't really a lubricant or penetrating oil, it's a "Water Displacement" product (hence the WD in it's name). The pinion/shaft of the bendix might be sticky/rusty etc and need stripping and cleaning with a light oil applied to smooth it's action?
