You have the physics all wrong.Like @ChromeDome I use a Pela, other makes are available, there is a certain pleasure in watching the oil being extracted with just the power of a vacuum.
Pedant! There some common expressions related to physics that are pleasing to us non-physicists, with part of the pleasure coming from the fact that they annoy physicists, just as 'decimating' annoys historians. Partial vacuum, negative pressure and cold conduction come to mind but I look forward to employing more non-physics in the New Year. You have the physics all wrong.
You reduce the pressure in the Pela with its hand pump . Then it's the "power" of the atmospheric pressure that forces the oil out of the engine sump into the Pela.
.
If it moves it is biologyPedant! There are multiple versions of this, e.g.If it moves it is biology
If it smells it is chemistry
If it doesn't work it is physics > > > explains why oil extraction pumps don't work
If it is broken it is technology.
I look forward to seeing more “ amp/ hours” rather than “ amp hours” in the future then.Pedant! And ft-lbs of torque instead of lbs-ft.I look forward to seeing more “ amp/ hours” rather than “ amp hours” in the future then.

Whereas I have plenty of Parkside tools, the impact driver I bought a couple of years ago had it battery pack up, and I had to bin the whole tool because they have changed the battery connection style. So I bought a new Erbauer from Screwfix for around the same price as they are asking now (~£70), and in my experience Erbauer are very reliable being the economy option from the Bosch factory. The batteries on this match my rechargeable drill too.Lidl will have the 12 volt pumps next Sunday ( 8th Jan )
Also a small 5watt LED torch and a 5 amp battery charger
and a 12 volt air compressor for the inflatable.
Auto Shop from Sunday, 08.01. at Lidl UK

Or worse lb/ft for torque! And ft-lbs of torque instead of lbs-ft.
I used my Pela to pump out difficult to acces bilge water and subsequently found that the metalreinforcement of the tube had rusted and punctured the outer plastic surface, necessitating the purchase of a replacement tube.I'm still a fan of my vacuum pump which has had uses in addition to oil change such as pumping out spills/bilge water in locations where there may not be a 12V battery conveniently nearby.
But have to admit the transfer of the oil from engine directly to a container would be cleaner and easier using an electric pump.
The Lidl product is incredibly cheap

My pump is a Sealey brand . The tubes are plastic with no metal parts .I used my Pela to pump out difficult to acces bilge water and subsequently found that the metalreinforcement of the tube had rusted and punctured the outer plastic surface, necessitating the purchase of a replacement tube.
