engine ID

Good Morning All
Hope somebody can help on this, I have a freind who is building a boat and has installed a what he thinks and has been told is a Ford engine.
There are no engraving or signs on the engine saying its a Ford tho.
The only engraving on the engine are the following :
D25M 508E6015 TD2 and S269691 which I think is the serial number.
Can anyone point me in the right direction as to find out the exact model and specs of this engine.

send same question to lancing marine, they are realy good, and help loads. i think it's probably a 2.5 litre transit engine, you don't mention whether it's marinised or not. if it is, then lancings are the best point to start, if its not then you'll have to find some id, from another part (ancilliaries, altanator, injection pump, starter etc, gthen narrow it down)
