There I was setting out on what should have been a fantastic weekend when all of a sudden three hundred yards from my mooring my outboard cut out.It was so sudden that I thought I must have run into a rock or a bit of rope had wrapped around the propeller or I had hit a buoy or something.
When I had sailed off the lee shore (fortunately I had the sails up) & got out of danger I tried to start the engine but although it seemed to fire a couple of times & almost run no joy & I knew continued pulling would just flood it so I continued on around to a favorite stop off place & decided to spend the weekend there.
On closer inspection I found that there was no spark whatsoever
Any ideas?
PS: by the way it's a two cylinder two stroke Mercury 9.9 hp.
