Hi all, just a bit of advice please....

Took the boat out last week, got back late so planned to go over to the storage yard the next day to flush engine, give it a wash down etc...

Anyway, the next morning the car broke down! Ended up being given a hire car and by the time it was sorted we didn't have time to visit the boat.

It's been a week and we were planning to go tomorrow, but I've just found out for personal reason the yard is shut tomorrow.

That means we can't get to the boat now till 4th August.

So, 3 weeks without a flush/wash - not ideal I know but hoping it won't be a problem either. Any thoughts gang? It's a 4.3mpi + Alpha 1 g2.

Also, It got me thinking - how do boats in marinas flush their engines?

Cheers!

They don't! I certainly wouldn't be worried for the sake of a few weeks. If I knew I wasn't going to use the boat for an extended perid of time, say 3 months plus then I'd look to flush it.

You’ll be fine. As long as the engine wasn’t drained down after you last used it, the block and some of the exhaust manifolds stay full of water. Even filled with seawater means there is very little oxygen content in there, to encourage corrosion. Not enough to really worry you over that period of time.
