Engine cooling thermostat, how does it work

The speed of the new upgrades to the BodgeFlow™®© system are akin to a Formula one car mid season, impressive! It won't be long before we have the BodgeFlow-UltraMeggaLumi™©® Mk12. You need a sticker making up like the Intel ones on PC cases, "BodgeFlow™ Inside" :D:encouragement::cool:

And another, "Engine flushing badassery" lmao:D

Excellent idea, but who is Intel?
Such stellar feature deserves something more appropriate...

One thing I like of the asylum is that it proves beyond reasonable doubt that OCD is not actually a mental disorder, but a normal and rather widespread condition. Which, as recognized also by modern evolutionary psychology, is not worth trying to repress.........

This is what all OCD sufferers tell themselves :).......but don’t worry, you are in good company :D

The Gardena Profi thing matches grey hoses perfectly.
A bit more expensive than ordinary B&Q stuff, but aside from aesthetic, the higher flow is well worth it.
And it doesn't leak one single drop. Best thing since sliced bread!

This is the Intel sticker found on pc's
Ahem... I'm actually aware of Intel.
I was just joking about not being an enough technologically advanced company to be used as an inspiration for the BF™ sticker...

Are you mad, it's orange (OMDB)!

Anyhow, the improved flow rate is rather pointless as our marina taps have the smaller bore pushfit fittings on them.

A small update

As in all technologically advanced components (), also the BF™ is constantly evolved and perfected.

Weeks ago, in the peak of the season and with many boats using water at the same time, I noticed a somewhat reduced dock flow.
So, I thought to arrange a "Y" hose connector, inspired to the notorious LBOK, just without the "Lethal" part.
But eventually, I only just found the time (and the mood...) to build it a few days ago.
And here's the result, just in case anyone might be interested.
Reduced dockside water supply is in fact something I often experienced also in other marinas, so I guess that will sound familiar.
Pretty simple and self explanatory, I believe - the white hose is obviously the one that goes to the e/r and gets connected to the engines raw water intakes.

NLBOK - non lethal BOK :D
I guess you've heard the EN expression "land grabbing". This is water grabbing, because it's a zero sum game in that more water for you might mean less for your neighbours :D

Nope, actually I wasn't aware of the expression, but I see what you mean, of course.
I'm not feeling much guilty, though: when compared to rinsing a whole boat, the total amount of water required for flushing the engines is almost negligible.
But for those few minutes, the flow has to be adequate, to avoid starving the impeller.

Apropos, just in case anyone is still skeptic about this, I also made a short video.
In fact, I understand that feeding the raw water circuit of a biggish engine with just a hose (albeit a bit larger than the usual ones), when the normal intake is from a 3" seacock, can intuitively appear not good enough.
But obviously, the seacock size has to cope with the max rpm, while flushing is done at idle, and this makes a huge difference!

In fact, the video shows a MAN V8 idling at 650rpm or so, with the seacock completely closed.
And as can be seen, the strainer remains always full, even if filled only by the dock hose.
The water inside looks a bit "turbulent", due to the way the hose is connected to the lid, creating a somewhat hectic water movement inside.
But in terms of flow, it's crystal clear that the engine impeller never demands more water than the hose can supply - Q.E.D. :encouragement:

PS: before anyone asks, I think that the metallic (sort of) noise in the background can only be due to distortion introduced by the smartphone mic, which maybe struggles in a noisy environment.
Anyhow, it's totally absent in flesh, thanks God!

"Skeptic" is a noun, you mean "sceptical" which is an adjective.
