I need to get hold of a flexible boroscope/endoscope to look into an area of the boat that is totally inaccessible without major surgery & seems to be the source of a mysterious leak.

Anyone used one & know where I can borrow/hire one? Any help appreciated.

Re: Lots of hire possibilities...

I was contemplating hiring one to look inside an engine.

Only one local hire shop had one and quoted me about £80 for a weeks hire. Day hire not possible!

Cost new is between £400 and a couple of grand, dependent on quality.

Regards,

Shantyman.

Consider buying your own video set up to search for your leak.

At 41p for oz dollar you might find this camera usefull for your present problem plus for checking underwater. Runs on 12volts and plugs into video recorder or TV. TV standards for video same as UK (no good for sound though)I(however I am sure you can find siilar in UK electronics shops) just a thought cos I doubt you could find and fix your problem in one rental go without stress. good luck will

I would buy a cheap security camera on eBay or at Maplin - on eBay you will pick one up for £20 or so - probably will even have built in Infrared LEDS so it will work in the dark - you could mount it on the end of a stick and push it into the smallest space. You use a TV with video input or monitor to display the pictures
These small cameras are ever so useful for all sorts of jobs like this
