We have a similar thermostatic plug switch, but a different make, which has an AAA battery inside it which retains the settings (unless the battery fails)I
Bought one of these It works ok but has a problem . If the electric goes off it automatically re-sets to 20C so it will be on all the time until I reset it. I have now bought a low tech room stat and mounted it on a board . Much better solution

Unless they're very low spec they should have a rechargeable battery or capacitor inside to keep the memory going during interruptions; ask for a refund.I

On that account, anyone who still has a couple of 100W festoon bulbs lying around would not even have to buy a tube heater!I just leave the 2 tube heater on all the time. At 100 watt each they would never raise the temperature that much to be of concern. What size tube heaters are you running.
