Electric vehicles and towing

But for every 1 "How bad a Tesla is" video there are 10 "why I love my Tesla" vids

I think their point is that it's a lovely car until something needs fixing. The TFL team all loved the Tesla too, what they didn't love was the ridiculous effort required to get a simple minor fender-bender incident fixed. One that kept the car off the road for many months, cost an absolute fortune and genuinely required the replacement of major components. It reinforces the earlier comments about Tesla being a technology company not a car company.

Interesting Porsche are developing synthetic petrol, presumably they aren't confident of being able to produce a proper electric sports car before the fossil fuel ban.

Tesla could cope with S and X volumes, it was fine.

The Model 3 and Y are breaking them.

They will get it right, but there is an onslaught of good cars from mainstream plus the Chinese are coming - and the Chinese are state backed (unlimited funds) and they are keen, hungry and have no legacy thinking to break. There are 2 main players Niro and Xpeng. They also know better than anyone how to mass produce.

The other manufacturers will also mount an onslaught.

Tesla won’t fail, but they are now not the only ones making a decent, long range EV, and if you don’t want a 2.3 0-60 time there are better cars now. However their Supercharger network is unmatched.

Interesting times coming.....

They already did - the Taycan is off the planet in most ways... they will do the same with the rest of the range - unlimited money, it’s probably the EV I would buy.

The Taycan is a technological masterpiece and a decent enough large family car or even GT but it isn't a sports car. It is far too big and heavy, saw one parked beside a Tesla, it made that look small! It is far too wide to fit a normal road.

Whilst Tesla has given the EV Industry a real kick, I expect that the established manufacturers will come to the fore for budget models & will take most of the market.

Yep, although I think people are still discounting the Chinese.

Nio delivered over 20,000 cars last year, Xpeng 40,000 and BYD 476,000.... These were just in China.

Tesla did 367,000 globally.....
