I also struggle with the Pela, but I think it might be down to two things. One, a bit of grit or muck in the metal extraction tube will seriously reduce the flow, so make sure the pipe is clear.Second, and I havent tried this, some say you should cut a taper into the tube end so that it doesnt sit flush against the oil sump casing.Does anyone have any experience of using an electric oil extraction pump? Was it any good and do you have a web link?
I should perhaps add that I have a Pela Extraction pump but I've never really found it to be that good. I've never actually used it on my current engines but when I used it on KAD32's it took an eternity to get the hot oil out of the sump. I reckon the oil will be stone cold by the time I get all of the oil out of the my current engines (TAMD63p's) and even if I did use the Pela, I'd still have to decant the extracted oil into a large waste vessel because it only hold about 6.5 litres.
Anyone have any suggestions?
When it works, it seems ok, but I agree , too often it is painfully slow.
