electric motor (trolling)

just wondering if anyone can help im looking for a trolling motor for my 14ft open grp boat it has a 30hp outboard on and im unsure what size thrust to go for thanks in anticipation

There would not be much point in going for any thing but the most powerfull and then you stll may be dissapointed in all but very still conditions olewill

Being physically smaller in size - you could possibly mount enough of them on back end to make it go reasonably ... but where are you going to carry the batterys ?

I have experienced 2 electric outboards .... both on small inflatables. One recc'd size ... the other much bigger. IMHO - farts in the wind. Great for silent running to catch a few fish or hunters wanting to pop a few ducks etc. - but serious boat-work ? Nope.

I have the rhino 54lbs thrust... pushes my Parker 235 along at 3knots with no tide or wind...

- that's exactly what "trolling" means! He's already got a 30hp motor for "proper boat work".
