electric blanket

Don't know anyone who does shaped blankets, but Westfalia do a 12v two-heat settings blanket that is about 1.5m x 1m, so if you put it high enough up the berth it will not be folded up at the edges but will warm most of the berth.

Its great for coming off watch on passage!

Why not buy a roll of under floor heating which is aprox 18w, it can be folded by cutting the support mesh and bending the cable (element), you could then sew it between two blankets cut to your preffered shape.

I have only ever used an electric blanket on a boat for heating the hull while carrying out a repair using epoxy resin and biaxial cloth, a great way to warm a hull without loosing all the heat to the atmosphere.
Sleep snugly.

Not really heat though, are they? The thick ones are great (insulators), but some of the lighter ones are not so great. However, they do make tapered ones, which would be quite good for a forecabin. But... in there, there would usually be a matress anyway surely.

I would think though that just folding a standard heated blanket under your feet would be effective, as your feet will lose heat more than your upper body, and so you may appreciate that extra warmth there.
