I am fitting Adverc+blocking diode which requires 16mm cable, as per instruction sheet. Every time I try to buy some its all listed as 'mm square' or 'amps load' can someone clarify please

16mm cable will be 16mm square cable (cross sectional area), with a nominal current carrying capacity of about 50 amps depending on installation.

careful with those ratings....
Be aware that if you buy "50 Amp" cable, many respectable suppliers list 7mm2 cable as being suitable for 50Amps..... If adverc say 16mm2, buy 16mm2, nothing smaller, and be sure to use decent terminals/crimp tool, or pay someone to crimp the terminals on the cable for you.
Most suppliers list 16mm2 as capable of carrying around 110Amps, for "average"? use.
