We were going to anchor there after sitting out the current blow. Some news reports say the fire is under control now, nobody hurt, shoreside visitors evacuated. We're at the north end of Kolpos Lakonikos* and can see it burning from here, some 20 miles away.
The air was incredibly warm and dry today. Got up to 36°C and below 27% humidity, so high fire risk, warnings in place for several other regions. Didn't need a towel after swimming!
*15 km of empty beach, great holding in compact sand and we're the only boat here while the rest bounce away in Gythion harbour, which is exposed to the north.
