Amazing what twelve feet of pitchpine will do for you!
OK, I admit to having a lazarette. And a bobstay, a cranse iron, a brass binnacle, lightboards, deadeyes, ratlines, throat and peak halyards, Wykeham Martin's Gear, a mainsheet snubber, Appledore Gear (with a spare handle) a pair of bitts (after all, what use is one bitt?) a Handy Billy, Highfield Levers and a traveller with a pigtail.
But no fish well.
No kicking strap, Cunningham Hole, self-tailers, self-bailers, rope clutches, genoa tracks, Genoa cars, spinlocks, spinnaker snuffer, inhauls, outhauls, uphauls, downhauls, batten cars etc. either.
In the immortal words of a very small girl on the pontoon at Fox's Marina, many years ago (she must be grown up now)
"Look, Mummy, here comes a Pirate Ship!"
