Hello all,

I'm looking for someone in the South of England who might accept a commission to build me a replacement mast - around 24 ft.

Ever the optimist, I'd rather avoid expensive 'factory' outfits in favour of a skilled backyard practitioner - cost being my limiting factor, of course! Is anyone out there prepared to recommend/volunteer themselves or someone they know?

Alternatively - has anyone got a solid 'used model' knocking about for cash?

Cheers
Chris

That would be great Mick - thanks! I don't mind sawing the ends of something, and if it's a little short it may not matter too much either. Let me know what you've got!

Cheers

Am awaiting delivery from Collars (Oxford) of a 24ft wooden mast. It will be hollow, best spruce, internal halyards, round, with luff groove (machined) and exit points for halyards. Finished two coats UCP. Total cost £500. Have costed alloy and there's no difference. Weight is a little more. Other quotes were £1500 from a small boatbuilder. Collar's have the technology and years of experience. Will report when mast arrives. Have pics of mast in build if you would like to see. Email me direct.
