Does anyone have any info on echo sounders? I only want depth and poss temp
to see if it warm enough to swim but have limited space to fit it. I have seen them
in the past but cannot find any online. Idealy want round dial type to match existing
instruments, oh and do they work at 48mph

mine is cetrek and does depth and speed, its fine when going slow (not often then...) but when on plane gives lots of silly depth readings, its never bothered me cos I dont tend to go planning about the place if I think its shallow, like in Newton and wotton etc

I am gonna spend it on wine, women and song, and blow the rest.........

At 48 miles an hour you'll have hit the bottom before you could slow down anyway! Depth sounders are for careful approaches, difficult navigation, anchoring and perhaps to some extent navigation by reference to depth - but i don't suppose much of that goes on now.

I think Echopilot do a little round one, and there's some US ones too.
