I have a spare forepeak double and can pick up from Ipswich/Orwell Saturday and deliver back to Ipswich Sunday pm if anyone fancies a sail round to Titchmarsh for the Laying down supper and needs a berth for the night.

How late can we book? I would like to come with boat. But I am concerned about the weather coming out of the Crouch this time of the year. Would not like to commit before the 8 day forecast is available.
Or do I just put my name down and pull out at the last minute if I don't like the weather?

John, we usually make it clear to the caterers/venue that its a waterborne event, and thereore subject to weather and breakages.
Last year, Royal Harwich wanted us to commit and pay for everything a week in advance. We immediately moved the venue to the Shipwreck in Shotley and were adjusting attendance right up to the day.

The Harbour lights want us to confirm numbers as early on the day as we can.
They are expecting around about 45 people.4I am sure that they would be happy with a few more or a few less.

The marina is expecting about 14 boats but fully understand that they are all weather dependent.

Hi all

Totals now standing at 15 boats and 51 people.
I have up-dated the marina and given them the boat details that I have.
I have also informed the Harbour Lights of likely numbers.
The weather is looking a bit challenging according to Wind Guru.
If you are dropping out of the berthing and or the meal please let me know.

Breaking my normal rules (don't even look at a weather forecast more than 3 days away...) here's the projected pic for Saturday. For those of you who don't use the ECMWF forecast - colour... any colour is bad. Yellow is just normal bad (30knts plus) whereas green is v v bad.
