Phew... I was wondering how to gently enquire as to whether #37 was right!... are you certain that #28 is right too?

I can confirm that 28 is correct. Hopefully all the rest as well as I've just checked them again.

Can I encourage as many of you to enter, however few you can answer. I think that all of us who have set these quizzes (which take a long time and lots of thought to set) have been rather discouraged by getting rather few answers. Although, in all the cases I have seen, the winners have made really good efforts! It's a super set of questions, ponder away over Christmas, and have a go!

I'm assuming that the prize is Ali's 'perpetual' trophy. However only she can confirm that it hasn't been consumed.

Cheating, or shall we call it research, is encouraged. I had to resort to a fair bit of that to compile it!

Ali's trophy is still waiting for whoever wins this quiz. For those who haven't seen it, it is Belorussian vodka in a bottle in the shape of a Belorussian in traditional costume. It was given to us as a genuine present by a very generous and kind Belorussian colleague, so we are sure it is good stuff - it's just that we don't like vodka! Nor has any of the prize winners since then, so it has become a bit of a perpetual trophy.

We will award it at the next ECF event

We will be researching/cheating wholesale!

It's me. I was brought up on the East Coast and learnt to sail on the Blackwater sometime last century. Now live in Sussex and sail my HR out of Chichester Harbour with occasional forays back East.
I compiled the year's quiz as penance for getting less wrong than most others last year. I must admit that having in my youth visited most of the Adnam's establishments featured in the previous edition, I did have a slight, and probably unfair advantage.
