Our Ebespacher keeps tripping out for no reason. The guy comes out "tweaks" something and charges us £50 for the priveledge. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks

Is the fuel supply getting to the unit ok and are the fuel pipes the correct size and is the fuel pump mounted at 45 degrees.
I fitted two second hand units on a boat and one of them had to be reset this was caused by the fuel not reaching the erbsp because the pipe was to big and the pump took to long to pump it from the tank. If the erbsp fails to start three times due to the fuel not getting there it will cut out and needs to be reset.

needs to be reset.

It's a Sealine factory fit jobbie so you would hope it's been done properly!!

Is it possible to reset it yourself??

You do not mention if the control is manual or digital.

I was told on the newer digital timer type if you pressed the bottom right 'switch on' button you must leave it to run thro the start up mode. Inpatience ie repressing the button during this cycle trips the whole thing and you need a tech man down to reset same.

Could this be problem?

Ahh you could have the answer there!! I took the boat to Cherbourg last thursday with five lad's for a Christmas booze run. The heating control is digital and the guy sleeping in the salon said "I kept pushing switches trying to get it going". Bottom right turns it on and lower centre increases the running time up to 8 hours. I bet that's what it is!! I can't believe you have to get a "techie" out to re-set it though!! Thanks for your help

Mine has the same problem, I beleieve they need servicing, how old is the unit? I dont think mine has been serviced for 4 years, I have just got the boat. So am having it serviced and checked, I hope this solves the problem.

mine was £274 in total, but that included a digital timer for £88 plus vat plus plug and gauze and sensor. Nice and warm now tho

My kept tripping out because the air inlet hidden behind the saloon sofa got blocked by dust. I moved the inlet to the cockpit locker and the problem was solved. It is very sensitive to air supply, must be enough.
