Well I have one in my workshop. It gives out very little heat & burns fuel like there is no tomorrow. I have to use my calor radiant heater - which has a far better output- to get the workshop up to a reasonable temp - which it does fairly quickly. Then use the chinese one to hold it at that temp, for a while then give it a burst of the calor again if it gets cold. I think the diesel one is dearer, but calor not always obtainable, so I tend to use it less.
I am far from impressed with it

There must be something wrong with it ie settings - I set mine to 26 degrees and turn it down after the heat has set in as it gets too hot

I do not have the heat set as high ( forget what setting) because it just burns so much fuel. Adjustment takes some time with the software, so it stays on that setting. I have it mounted in a fixed position under a bench where it is protected & exhaust goes straight out the wall. The one I have is an all in one unit & was not purchased as individual sections, so tank, heater etc is enclosed in a single casing.

Depends how big the work shop is I suppose?
I have a Chinese heater in my boat and it positively throws out the heat. And it ignites quicker than any eber I've ever had.
Never had a webasto, so can't comment there.

I suspect you have an issue with that particular heater. The 5 I have heat very well and are incredibly fuel efficient
