Up till now not had problem with above apart from temperamental green diode in controller probably a bad connection
Last night it started alright but after a while loud pulsing noise coming from air outlet which eventually caused the heater to stop
Any thoughts?

Which model may help. By air outlet I take it you do mean the exhaust? Pulsing or panting from the exhaust suggests that heater is struggling to fire and so stops. struggling once the heater is working suggests a fuel issue. I assume that it will no longer start?

Water in the fuel or air leak in the fuel pipe.

It’s a 3C dating from 1997. No I mean the outlets in the cabin.
Just tried again and fires up OK but after 5 minutes getting loud gurgling noises coming from the outlet pipes - I’m wondering if the trunking has got a split somewhere and ha flooded with bilge water - it does sound a bit like a hookah pipe

That's a new one! Does sound like the heater is fine. Are you able to disconnect the ducting near to the heater and see if the heater then works ok?
IF its from 1997 then probably a D3LC

Sounds like it’s not firing properly. Either poor fuel or water in fuel, or it’s needing combustion chamber needing cleaned out.

If it’s main fuel tank then I won’t be launching tomorrow! I will be running the engine for a bit today so that should indicate any problem- hopefully it’s the combustion chamber as you suggest

Found problem - in investigating why the bilges keep filling discovered a) trunking through area under sink was immersed in water b) trunking disconnected from saloon hot air outlet. Seems to work OK now. Not all good news as investigating where water is coming from revealed defective galley sink seacock so launch off until that’s replaced

The important thing is you have found the reason for the problem. Had you not had the problem in the first place your galley sink seacock could have caused very serious problems.
