I should have imagined that you guys have come across this topic before but being a fairly new member I have probably missed it. My ebo comes on and starts running, warm air comes then after a few minuets cuts out. My batteries seem ok as they start the engines no problem, plenty of fuel, even with the engines running and clocking amps or on shore power it still wont stay on, any clews??

Check supply cable is large enough feeding espacher , Requires big cable due to voltage drop , i fitted 6mm to mine , runs a treat

I don't know which model you have, but mine (an old 4DL model I believe) has a sensor which detects if it really started and got hot. If after a couple of minutes it does, then it goes into a high speed mode... if it doesn't, it just cuts out.

Could be related to this? I seem to recall when it required a decoke I had problems with it not getting to temperature and cutting out....

Cheers,
Paul

Give it a thorough clean (not difficult, just messy).

Check the installation and fuel pump calibration. You don't need to be ultra precise about it, but if you pull the fuel line off the inlet and let it run through it's start-up cycle, a D3/D4 should be pumping a little over a teaspoon of diesel. Any less and the pump is knackered or the filter blocked. It's also worth checking that the fuel line is as short as poss from the pump to the burner and only runs uphill, otehrwise you can get air bubbles trapped. Mine was originally a horribly botched and unreliable thing, but is now running sweetly.

If you need one, buy a pump off eBay, not the local agents - I paid about 30% of retail for one from Guernsey that way.
