Hi,

And yet another question!

What would be the estimated cost of installing a heating system in the cockpit and cabin of a 37ft boat?

Cheers

Nick

Ask Alistairr - posts here regularly and is on hols just now. He put one into his boat this year, mainly a DIY job so he will know for sure. Roy

If you are into saving money and are any good at DIY you can install a second hand one for a couple of hundred pounds!

Long distance lorries use the same heating system and second hand units can be picked up at breakers yards for commercial vehicles! and sometimes they can be obtained because people upgrade units. Ducting will need be be purchased and the exhaust outlet for a vessel. The whole unit is not too difficult to service and not that much goes wrong with them. You must have one outlet left open at all times, so purchase at least one that cannot be closed!

Good luck

Barry

May just be losing heat through the ducting, try temp blanking off the galley and saloon outlets to see if you can get heat to the fwd cabin when forced through.

Complete idiot in such matters. Why is E ducting so expensive, and are there not alternatives.

Also, general question I've asked before and not had an answer to. The dreaded 3 click thing, where if it doesn't start, it needs an engineer to get it going again...not needed on older or newest models? What does the engineer do to get it going again, and can anyone replicate this, or does it need specialist equipment? Seems to me that if someone could buy this equipment, would make a tidy sum hiring out to peeps whos E hasn't started?
