My heater seems to have locked out. There is an air leak in the lazaretto and the hot air was, I believe circulating and hence the heater was drawing hot air.

It cut out several times but has now failed to start.

I now have fitted the adaptor to prevent the hot air escaping.

Is there a way to reset the unit?

Any advice gratefully appreciated.

Tony.

That would not cause it to lock out, there is something else wrong, identify and rectify that isuue. All that drawing heated air into the inlet would do is make the heater think it it had got the cabin up to temperature and cycle down, it would then cycle up again when the air in the lazarette cooled. On that note the heater should not be drawing it's air from the lazarette anyway, the exhaust is in there with it, it shouls have a duct to draw clean air from outside the closed compartment. At worst, if you have a cabin temperature sensor the heater would still just recognise that the ambient temperature was too high to need heat.

Which D5 model. The standard 7 day timer will clear codes and reset the Airtronic model. How many failed restarts occurred?

I need to check the precise model number.

I have the 701 controller with white logo, so no fault codes.

The Letonkinoisvarnish site is very useful, thanks.

I have been told to 'reset' the heater but can't find out how to do it!

Hi

It is a D5LC

The Eberspacher diagnostic tool reads code twelve.

What should I check?

I cut the power off overnight but no result.

Unless you have the right controller (or are prepared to buy one) then you need somebody with E.D.I.T.H. software and interface to do it, what is the precise model of your heater and controller?

David,

I have the 701 controller, with the white logo, hence non diagnosis.

Can I fit the one with the blue logo and clear the fault?

Thanks

Tony
