After spendng 3 hours infront or the control panel, I'm beginning to think it's hot or cold, fast, medium or slow and finally on or off which is fine but it would be nice to know how the hell to get warm air flowing in the cockpit instead of cold tho. Pretty sure it is Eber programmer as I've seen a pic of it on their website and how to install it. Oh well, I'll keep looking :)
Thanks

BTW: The heater has some built-in circuits and will work in certain patterns. Patience is needed to know what it does as it will not react immediately to timer settings or changes

Which control panel is it - this one?

How about sending us a pic of the type of controller, eg has it got the ramp type lcd display, and the 7 day timer or just a rotary knob for the stat along with a 3 position switch in either black or white facia, also be careful as there may be a fault if its only blowing cold or low fuel, or low voltage, you get 7 attempts then it locks out, you will then have to get a dealer to come and unlock the unit.

Can you not hear the pump ticking when its switched on, if not it wont get hot as there is no fuel being fed to the unit. Does the exhaust outlet smoke say 1 minute after you start it up?

Paul, it's starting up ok and blowing nice and warm in the cabin but not in cockpit (cold flow). If I can find operating instructions, I'll be able to sus it out. Just frustrating right now.

In that case it's nothing to do with the controller or the furnace, more like a ducting problem, there is only one outlet from the furnace so if there is heat from one outlet there should be from the others too, perhaps a little cooler but it is all linked. If the outlet furthest from the furnace is cool then the heater is not generating enough heat either because of a fault or possibly under specified output. This does seem odd, if you had said it was a Hydronic with matrix then it would point instantly to one matrix in need of bleeding but as it's an air heater that can not be the case. Try blocking / closing all but the cockpit vent and see what comes out then.

Just a thought lisilou, as your new to eber heating the oulet in the cockpit could be an inlet for the burner unit, place your hand over the grill, does it suck or blow? if neither it could be that the pipe ducting has come adrift from a plastic y piece section, therefore you will be blowing warm air into somewhere else in the boat, if it sucks a pice of paper on to it its the inlet for the heater, which it could be as the burner unit will be in the engine space which will have an external inlet to combat engine produced fumes being sucked in and pumped around the boats interior.

Definitely blows Paul. Hmmm will get it checked out I think. Thanx for the heads up tho.

Ebbies seem a black art....but if it starts and pumps out warm air you are most of the way there. On an SC35 certainly on the 2011 version there is ,apart from the controller/timer, a three position switch with air symbols on the dash board, I think under the perspex cover...not near my boat at the moment.. this controls the outlets. Altering this switch makes a difference but as somebody else said you have to be a little patient. Ebbies take their time and do not react instantly like car heaters.
However once they are going they chuff out a lot of heat. When our boat was new before Christmas last year it was minus 12 outside and shirtsleeve wear in the cockpit. ( I seem to remember somebody at Sealine saying that for Russia they fit 3 D4 Eberspachers on an SC35)
I can get ours going but do not claim to be an expert so if it goes wrong I will send for Biggles but another thing to note is the default position on the timer switches the machine on for only an hour....a source of a major moan from Madame who thought we had made a serious mistake buying a boat without adequate heating. You, of course, can switch it on for longer periods or constant when you have mastered the controller.
Another suggestion from a Broads boatyard owner whose boats use these and Webasto heaters is not to run them at anything else but maximum.. he said they coke up at lower temperatures.
One more point ... make sure you do not have a fender over the exhaust outlet....nasty ,smelly and very dangerous to you and neighbouring boats.

Handy info Croc, never even thought to check position of fenders :0 so will check that. Ours is 3 yrs old and i dont think there's a switch on dash but i'll check. Thanks so much.
